NISLAB designed, developed and currently maintains the Website of the Department of Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics (https://nutr.ihu.gr). The website is based on a modified version of WordPress and was re-designed from the ground-up in 2019 in order to provide both a desktop- and mobile-friendly user experience.
The website is heavily based on custom post types, creating “object instances” such as staff, courses, rooms, labs, conferences etc. Administrators of the website (administrative and support staff) can make use of a user-friendly UI Web interface for uploading news items, as well as creating the online description of each course, the properties of which (e.g. teaching stuff, teaching hours) feed various other modules on the website such as a fully-customisable online timetable and staff personal profiles.
NUTR.IHU.GR is built as a multi-site WordPress installation and includes other sub-sites on the domain such as NISLAB (this website) and the department’s MSc program, also managed by NISLAB. The website is multi-lingual (GR & EN versions) with custom string translations that cover all aspects of the website.
